I am so proud of my little angel who won Citizenship Character trait for first grade this month at Cornelius Elementary.  Cornelius Elementary School promotes a different trait each month, including respect, responsibility, honesty, caring, justice and fairness, citizenship, courage, perseverance and hope. Each character trait is highlighted and modeled throughout the year.

Character Education in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is a partnership with parents and the community to grow honest, responsible and caring students. Through this program, students are encouraged to understand, care about, and act upon basic values that we all share. Character Education promotes a positive school climate where students are more polite, honest and respectful, enhances student achievement, and encourages community involvement and a lifelong commitment to helping others.

“Intelligence plus character-that is the goal of a true education.”
